EEMA celebrates its annual convention


The three days of Maha Kumbh saw a host of intriguing and industry-relevant panel discussions on topics such as ecology, profitability, technological innovation.

The Event & Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) – an autonomous, not-for-profit registered body of over 500 companies, institutions and professionals operating in the events and experiential marketing industry in India – held its annual convention over the weekend at the Fairmont Jaipur hotel. The three-day celebration, known as the Maha Kumbh of the experiential industry, saw an encouraging response, instilling hope in attendees that the industry would see better days.

The three-day convention saw a host of intriguing and industry-relevant panel discussions on topics including ecology, profitability, technology innovation, the future of the live events industry, current challenges and misnomers, etc. the three days at EEMAGINE 2022 were Roshan Abbas, President, EEMA; Ch. Apurva Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Ch. Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, IAS, Director of Tourism, Government. from Odisha; Rashmi Dhanwani, Arts Professional and Founder, Art X Company; Sabbas Joseph, Founder-Director, Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd; famous Indian playback singer, Sunidhi Chauhan, Indian cricket commentator and journalist, Harsha Bhogle accompanied by famous author, publicity specialist and his wife, Anita Bhogle, and many more.

Make a closing statement at the EEMA EEMAGINE Annual Convention 2022, Roshan Abbas, president EEMA said: “This was a very important moment for us as an industry to articulate the future paths of the industry. It was necessary for the EEMA, as the supreme body, to deliberate on this position, to create momentum for the future and to emphasize that the future is bright and holds great potential for growth and prosperity. We at EEMA presented a united front to the government and we are delighted to have received a warm and welcoming response. Soon, we will formulate a “model event policy” for the reference of the current government. At EEMA, we support every event manager and every event organization.

Sharing his thoughts at the EEMA annual convention EEMAGINE 2022, Siddhartha Chaturvedi, Secretary General of EEMA said, “I am truly grateful to my team, to my colleagues in the industry, because without them this mega event would not have been possible. At EEMA, as an Apex body, we are also very grateful to the government for supporting the industry by welcoming our challenges and suggestions for the future growth of the industry. After almost 3 years, this event brought everyone together under one roof and made it very special for us.

Be virtually present at EEMAGINE 2022, Apurva Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said, “India is an important service sector, the world is investing in India and the events industry plays a crucial role in creating livelihoods and business opportunities for India. We should support these activities through the Film Facilitation Office. In addition to this, responding to questions on the challenges facing the events industry, Shri Chandra added, “We would welcome a draft model policy from EEMA to highlight all suggestions and facilitate business for industry.

During the round table on “The role of events” in the development of tourism, Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, IAS, Director of Tourism, Government. from Odisha, Said, “Odisha is as cultured and diverse as Rajasthan and EEMA takes the potential of the events industry to considerable heights. The government is also now focusing on the events industry as a major catalyst for tourism. The future looks bright for the industry and there is also a massive need for an event sourcing policy just like the sourcing of goods and sourcing of services policies.

EEMA also hosted the EEMAX Global and Spotlight Awards, a prestigious ceremony that recognizes excellence in events and experiential marketing in categories such as corporate events, sporting events, weddings and social events, activations and exhibitions, among others. The Spotlight Awards saw powerful performances from talented duo Toshi & Shaarib, singer Asees Kaur and child prodigy Steven Samuel Devassey. In addition to this, the EEMAX Global Awards 2022 was hosted by Shruti Set and saw performances from singer Akriti Kakar and Indian stand-up actor and comedian Ali Asgar. The EEMAX Global Awards were also attended by famous Indian actress, model and coveted jury member, Neha Dhupia.
