Earlier this month, we got to see several concepts that take the 2022 Ford Maverick – the smallest new truck on the market – and reinvent it, including a glimpse of the off-road potential that the new truck has. to offer. We’ve also seen it transform into a pocket rocket suitable for street performance. Today, the latest concept for the Ford Maverick comes from legendary hot rod designer Chip Foose, who came up with an idea that once again completely transforms the Maverick, this time giving it an iconic Shelby appearance.
Concept Ford Maverick Shelby 2022 by Chip Foose
The 2022 Ford Maverick may share the same nameplate as the 1970s Maverick, but the two are far from the same. For starters, the old Maverick was a passenger car. However, the concept of Chip Foose created with its ballpoint pen and markets reinvents the small truck into something a far cry from the typical rugged off-roader. By reducing the Maverick’s ground clearance and adding larger wheels, it immediately takes on a muscle car stance. Meanwhile, the lower part of the front fascia received a rugged look that looks a lot like the Mustang. The front fairing also features air intakes that keep the brakes cool. Additionally, the vehicle features a wide body with blackened fenders to help flesh out the performance stance.
Additional details on Chip Foose’s Shelby Ford Maverick Concept include white paint with blue Shelby stripe graphics that extend from the front bumper to the hood. Additionally, the hood received a scoop which is intended to be fully functional and allow more air to reach the engine and potentially increase the power of the Maverick. Finally, a wing that matches the black accents on the rear of the vehicle flows from the tailgate and ultimately completes the overall look of the Shelby Maverick Concept.
There is immense potential for the Ford Maverick, that’s clear, and the various concepts we’ve seen centered around it show that there is no shortage of potential to modify the vehicle to meet customer needs.
