The Bok Shop, the South Coast-based home fried chicken brand, has teamed up with London-based sneaker shop OffGrid to create an all-new retail experience – and the first of its kind nationally to open at Westquay in March.

The restaurant will host an exhibition of bespoke limited-edition sneakers, allowing patrons to dine while shopping for the latest coveted Yeezys and Air Jordan Diors from workout experts. Evenings and weekends will also come alive with regular musical events, celebrating this unique cultural collision.

On the menu are appetizing free-range chicken burgers, tenderloins and wings, with vegan options available. Inspired by London’s fried chicken scene, the 100-seat restaurant in Westquay will offer a balance of contemporary and nostalgic street food prepared with fresh, homemade ingredients in state-of-the-art Henny Penny pressure fryers.

The new 3,700 square foot restaurant will be The Bok Shop’s fourth and follows its success in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. The brand plans to deploy 10 new sites in the next two years.

Jamie O’Mara, co-founder of The Bok Shop, said, “We’re bringing together our love of fried chicken with ultra-rare sneakers in a way that’s never been done before, and we can’t wait to bring this exciting concept for the people of Southampton It has been an exciting journey to see our business grow from a single store in Brighton to multiple locations on the south coast, with Southampton representing the next natural step in our expansion.

Harry Badham, Director of Asset Development and Repositioning, Hammerson, said: “This collaboration and partnership is a sign of how retail and foodservice are evolving and coming together in new ways to create special places for our clients. Bok Shop’s innovation and ethical credentials are aligned with our own ambitions.”

Westquay, located in the heart of Southampton, is one of the South Coast’s most popular shopping and leisure destinations. The Bok Shop joins a dynamic list of culinary offerings in Westquay, which includes Carluccio’s, Fridays, Wagamama and YO! Sushi.
