Davison Carvalho has landed on one side of the Marvel Media Multiverse after several gigs deep within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The artist worked on concepts for Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarokand Captain Marvelbut he is now the artistic director of Insomniac as they continue to work on the highly anticipated Spiderman 2.

This change was noted by VGC, who contacted the artist about the new position. Carvalho said he’s worked with third-party companies on Marvel movies, but that’s not his only experience. It also has work credits on everything from Mortal Kombat X to the unfortunate Crucible out of Amazon’s games division.

As for the art directors who directed the original Spider Man and the side game directed by Miles Morales, they are busy working on Wolverinethe other Marvel game currently in the works at the studio which Spyro the Dragon built. The creative paths of Spider Man titles are also on the project, so it seems that a new generation at the studio will continue the adventures of Peter Parker.

Webheads won’t have to wait too long to see where Pete and Miles go next. Spiderman 2 is slated for release exclusively on PlayStation 5 in 2023. Spider Man fans can also experience their favorite hero alongside many other Marvel heroes in midnight sunsa strategy game developed by Firaxis due out in October.
Regarding Insomniac’s upcoming program, Wolverine is much earlier in development than Spidey’s sequel, and fans have only seen CGI teasers for both games so far. They weren’t featured at Sony’s last State of Play, but it’s likely that PlayStation will have another showcase for its first-party titles before the end of the year.
