North Park Lincoln Prepares to Begin Dealership Upgrade to Showcase Concept

The dealership, located at 9207 San Pedro Avenue in San Antonio, is about to embark on a major renovation of its facilities to reflect the Lincoln brand’s new “Showcase” design theme, which is highlighted by long horizontal lines, oversized windows and luxurious finishes.

Lincoln, which is the luxury brand of Ford Motor Company, began the program about four years ago to upgrade its dealerships to stand-alone stores using the Showcase design. As of mid-2021, there are approximately 28 Showcase-style dealerships already open in the United States, with plans underway for another 50.

Vitrine is a French term meaning “glass showcase,” and Lincoln’s new showrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing passers-by to see the illuminated vehicles at night.

Diego Iturbe, general manager of North Park Lincoln in San Pedro, said the dealership is finalizing plans and obtaining building permits for the new facilities, and plans to begin work, beginning in the service area, later this this month.
“Construction will proceed in phases, starting with drive-thru and lounges, before moving to showroom and sales offices,” he said.

“We look forward to building a new state-of-the-art Lincoln Vitrine design facility that will prove to push the boundaries of style, functionality, comfort and luxury,” Iturbe said.

“Decorated in a mid-century modern aesthetic, the dealership will look like a beautiful, crystal-clear display,” Iturbe said.
There will be no disruption to dealer sales, parts, or service operations during the upgrade process, and everything will be business as usual.

Regarding the Showcase concept, Ford Motor Company said it was designed to make the customer’s dealership experience quite “Lincoln-like”.

“Focusing on the top 130 luxury markets, Lincoln is expanding its network of brand-exclusive Showcase dealerships,” the company said. “In addition to simplifying the buying process, this model moves away from the traditional transaction space to a modern customer-centric layout.”
