The beauty of horses on display at the Art Gallery of Nottinghamshire on show by the Society of Equestrian Artists


Art and animals will go hand in hand with The Horse in Art exhibition at a Nottinghamshire art gallery.

The Sally Mitchell Gallery will host the exhibition, organized by the Society of Equestrian Artists, which will be an open sale exhibition of sculptures, paintings, prints and sketches.

Some of today’s top equestrian artists will be showcased as well as exciting young talent, showcasing a range of artistic styles from figurative to abstract and contemporary.

The exhibition will run from September 10-17 and will include a private preview and awards ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday 11 for those who pre-register at the vent.

The gallery is also well known for its commitment to supporting sporting art and encouraging artists, and is home to the unique Horse Museum.

Sally’s extensive and fascinating collection of all things horsemanship spans from 600 BC to the present day, in the upstairs rooms of the 18th Century Coaching Inn.

The Horse in Art 2022 runs from September 10-17 at the Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Gallery in Tuxford. The gallery is open every day of the week from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
