The construction of infrastructure on the site of the UML General Convention is in full swing
State-of-the-art equipment being installed; drones to monitor, help a large global convention
A press conference organized by the UML Advertising Support Committee in Chitwan to inform about preparations for the general convention in Bharatpur on Monday.
KATMANDOU: The construction of the necessary infrastructures on the site of the 10th National General Convention of the CPN-UML is in full swing.
Work is underway to install state-of-the-art equipment at the inaugural site and drones will be mobilized to monitor the entire convention site.
The stage at the inaugural site is being built using the latest technology used in Nepal, said Binod Shrestha, central member of UML and coordinator of the stage management committee.
At a press conference organized by the Chitwan Advertising Support Committee to inform about preparations for the general convention in Bharatpur on Monday, coordinator Shrestha said the platform was being built for the convenience of 500,000. citizens.
He said since the inaugural screening cannot be watched by 500,000 people from one location, it will be broadcast live from multiple locations. Shrestha said video cameras as well as at least two drone cameras will be used to broadcast the inaugural session live.
According to Shrestha, the inaugural stage is being built quickly for delivery of the platform on November 25. He said 40 percent of construction work has been completed to date.
Likewise, the construction of a closed room in Sauraha began from Sunday, he said. “An aluminum structure has been installed in an empty field near the Seven Star Hotel in Sauraha, where the closed door will take place,” he said.
During the press conference, Kashinath Adhikari, coordinator of the monitoring committee, said that the work of the general convention was regularly monitored. He said the committee also managed the workforce according to the need to speed up the work. He added that preparations for the convention have gathered momentum since Sunday. He said that door-to-door programs are also carried out in the villages to ensure public participation.
Adhikari said preparations were underway to hold rallies in six different locations to participate in the inaugural session on November 26. Likewise, preparations were underway to organize mass rallies in Gaindakot, Aaptari, Bishal Chowk, Central Bus Terminal, Trichowk and Belchowk.
Bijay Subedi, coordinator of Chitwan’s publicity support committee, said work has been advanced by forming six different committees in the district. Subedi added that all 98 neighborhood committees, two section committees and all popular organizations of the party were mobilized to obtain wide public participation in the general convention of the UML.
CPN-UML Chitwan President Parbati Rawal said all the committees formed in the district were diligently advancing their work. She added that security arrangements, including traffic management, will be made in collaboration with district security agencies.
