The doors of the Terre Haute Convention Center are finally open | News

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – After more than a year of construction, the Terre Haute convention center is finally finished and ready to welcome people! Its grand opening will take place on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to show off all that the center has to offer.

The grand opening will begin at 10 a.m. Facility tours, food tastings, face painting, children’s museum activities and much more.

From weddings to meetings to retreats, the center is happy to welcome you and meet all your needs. The state-of-the-art facility has tons of meeting rooms, ballrooms, and a large kitchen.

This new addition to downtown Terre Haute will help boost the local economy!

It will bring in people from out of town, which will help attract customers to hotels and restaurants.

The center’s director of sales and marketing, Pam Chamberlain, says the city has needed it for some time.

“Just for that money to flow into Terre Haute and back to our streets, our system, improving Terre Haute’s capital assets is how it’s going to generate and transform into what we can continue to build on.”

A business expo will be held on Saturday for 30 local small businesses to showcase their products and services. The center has already booked a variety of events, including weddings, exhibitions and dinners.

One organization that comes to the center in October is the Indiana Beekeepers. He will hold a conference at the center for more than 200 people.

Treasurer Debbie Seib says she’s excited to see the new facility so everyone can see all that Terre Haute has to offer.

“It’s the Upper Town experience, so we definitely want companies to contact us, contact the visitors desk and see what they can do to help us with our conference.”
